Yara Siilinjärvi phosphate mine is a large open pit operation, annual mining volume is about 32 Mt. The technical excursion concentrates on fleet management system, automatic slope monitoring system and mill automation.

Skanska has implemented BIM on many types of projects (for example, buildings, roads, bridges, tunnels and industrial plants) and has realized a variety of benefits, including improved communication amongst project stakeholders, enhanced efficiencies, greater certainty for both schedule and cost conformance and the reduction of risk. Skanska recognizes that BIM affords us the opportunity to deliver a higher quality product in the most efficient manner to our clients.

On site, models have been used to visualize drawings, to do production planning, and to support procurement. The mobile devices have been used effectively on the site. All building information models as well as all the documents can be viewed at the site with iPads, making supervising easier and more efficient.
