Congress Venue

Helsinki's famous congress and concert palace, Finlandia Hall, was designed by the world‐renown architect Alvar Aalto. Since opening in 1971, Finlandia Hall has hosted numerous international meetings of worldwide importance, e.g. the Conference on Security and Co‐operation in Europe. During the Finnish Presidencies of the European Union in 1999 and 2006, Finlandia Hall was the scene for many EU summits.

Finlandia Hall is ideally situated in the very heart of Helsinki, in the Hesperia Park and only a short walking away from the city’s largest hotels. The main shopping areas, centres of entertainment and several good restaurants are also within easy reach.

Finlandia Hall offers a well‐designed setting for a wide variety of events. Its excellent and easily adaptable premises form an ideal surrounding for large international congresses as well. A preliminary reservation for the AITES‐ITA World Tunnel Congress and 37th ITA General Assembly has been made for 21‐25 May 2011 (Saturday‐Wednesday).
